Live Projects

PACT EAC project

In the next decades, the food security situation in the EAC is expected to further aggravate as climate change worsens in a region were as much as four East Africans in five rely on agriculture for their living. Early action and adaptation of sound policies harnessing the potential role of trade is a must. Over the next three years, CUTS International Geneva and its partners throughout the region will contribute to this process through a project entitled “Promoting Agriculture-Climate-Trade linkages in the Eastern African Community” (PACT EAC).

FEAD

CUTS GRC is undertaking a project titled “Facilitating Equitable Agricultural Development in Africa” with funding support from William and Flora Hewlett Foundation of the US. Its objective is to foster an enabling environment for framer-friendly agricultural development that is led by the private sector.

Active in Geneva

East Africa Forum

CUTS Geneva Resource Centre launched the EAC Forum for the Geneva based delegates of the East African Community Member States to facilitate discussions on issues of interest to them with technical inputs from CUTS. The Forum will be hosted once every quarter. The first meeting of the Forum was held on 17th February 2010.

South Asian Geneva Delegates Forum

At the request of Geneva Mission delegates of South Asian countries, CUTS Geneva Resource Centre launched in early 2009 an informal forum for closer interaction among these delegates. Quarterly meetings are organized under this informal forum where South Asian Geneva Mission delegates discuss selected issues on the WTO agenda, based on background notes prepared by CUTS GRC.

CUTS Works for LDCs

LDCs face specific challenges, like vulnerability to an increasing number of external shocks such as the recent food, energy and financial crises. CUTS Geneva Resource Centre is committed to help LDCs address their challenges and intends to bridge the information gap between Geneva and the capitals especially for non-resident countries.
